Mystery at Jacob's Well
In the Texas Hill Country, four students are plunged into a mystery as they prepare a report on caves. An underwater cave deep in an eerie well, which has claimed the lives of eight divers, a mysterious carved stone, unexplained frightening cries, and other strange events envelop the students as they seek to unravel the mystery and find the answers.
In her school presentation of Mystery at Jacob's Well, Marcia includes a video of a dive into Jacob's Well which does NOT include the finding of the bones as shown on "The Well" page. She has a reading from the book, the video, an archeological dig, and a Q&A Session, all of which lasts about 45 minutes to an hour. |
"In the course of unfolding her story, Marcia works in such arcane information as details on tectonic plates, fecal coliform counts, what to do if confronted by mountain lion, the range of bobcats, prehistoric geology, faultlines, and the history of Wimberley. Pretty daring stuff in a children's book, and Marcia pulls it off nicely."

Here is what Reverend Mark T. Goodman, Pastor of Rabbit Creek Community Church in Anchorage, Alaska, has to say about The Backpack Cat:
"A true delight! Marcia Bennett has written a joy to read and a story to share. I laughed out loud. Young Daniel, the protagonist, finds what he really needs - love. He finds that love in unexpected places and people, and even in an ugly old cat. Sand dunes, hot air balloons, a hurricane - this book has it all! What promised to be the most boring summer of his life turns out to be the most cherished of times. Join Daniel, Gram and Feogato on a journey of love, hope and lasting memories. This book will lift your spirit as it reminds you of the tender love that can only come from grandmothers, the bond between boy and animal, and prayers answered by God." Somebody Left the Door Open |
